We have provided legal advice on hundreds of corporate transactions to a wide variety of clients including owner-managers, entrepreneurs, private and public companies, private equity funds, family offices and other institutions, both in the UK and internationally.
Khurshid Valli – Managing Director
Khurshid specialises in all aspects of corporate legal work advising owner managers, entrepreneurs, private and public companies, private equity funds, family offices and other bodies, in the UK and internationally, on business sales, acquisitions and investments. Additional experience includes joint ventures, reorganisations, demergers, share buy backs, share capital reductions, employee ownership trusts, partnerships, flotations, takeovers, funds, debt instruments, security documents and corporate governance.
Before founding K3 Law, Khurshid spent 25 years with two large national top 50 law firms. He was a Corporate Partner at Gateley Plc for 14 years and a Corporate Lawyer (including training) for the previous 11 years with Halliwells (acquired by Gateley in 2010).
Sector experience includes manufacturing, technology and digital, telecommunications, healthcare, energy and utilities, retail, creative, transport, food, hospitality, education, real estate, financial and professional services. Overseas transactional experience includes Europe, USA, Asia, Africa and Middle East.
Khurshid was ranked second most active legal adviser in the UK North-West (Experian MarketIQ 2017) and recommended as ‘brilliant’ (Legal 500 UK, 2017).
Poppy Ball – Legal Director
Poppy joined K3 Law having previously worked at Gateley Legal and Shoosmiths.
Having worked in law for over 10 years, Poppy advises on all areas of corporate law
including mergers and acquisitions, public companies, and restructurings.
Whilst at Shoosmiths, she advised on the acquisition and delisting of French
Connection Group Limited and the MBO takeover, by way of scheme of
arrangement, of Rotala Plc. During this time, she also undertook two acquisitions of
LLP entities for Evelyn Partners.
At Gateley, amongst other transactions, Poppy advised on the initial private equity
investment into and bolt-on acquisitions of Independent Wealth Planners UK
Limited.
Rachel Bailey, Solicitor
Rachel achieved a first class law degree and trained at Glaisyers ETL Global. She advises on all aspects of business sales, mergers and acquisitions at K3 Law.
Rachel likes to keep active in her spare time, and has a passion for travelling and exploring city destinations. .
John Rigby – Director and Group Executive Chairman
Having previously worked in the commercial and corporate banking sectors, both within the UK and overseas, John joined KBS in 2000 and developed the national sales infrastructure of the Group. John became Group Executive Chairman in 2023 and has been responsible for driving growth as well as being integral in the development of the low-cost, process-driven delivery platform.
Andrew Melbourne – Director and Group Chief Financial Officer
Andrew joined the Group in 2012 following 10 years in various financial accounting roles across a range of industries including media, leisure and property management. Andrew, who possesses strong financial, strategy and commercial management skills including HR, IT and special projects, is a former North West Young Finance Director of the Year and has an MSc in Strategic Financial Management.
Simon Daniels – Group Sales Director
Simon began his career in marketing strategy and is renowned for his experience and knowledge within the business sales marketplace. He has almost 20 years’ experience in developing creative sale strategies and fulfilling a decisive role in enabling shareholders to achieve their exit objectives.
Holly Bedford – Tax Director, K3 Tax
Holly is a transactional tax specialist advising on corporate sales and acquisitions, MBOs, group reconstructions. private equity-backed corporate finance investments and family successions. She also specialises in advising on share incentive schemes and employee share-related tax issues.
Cameron Minifie – Assistant
Cameron achieved a first-class law degree from the University of Liverpool.
She was a Team GB Biathlete qualifier for the European Championships and also a British Schools Biathlon champion. Cameron has experience of transactions
involving demergers, reorganisations and company sales.
Amahri McKenzie-Lewis – Assistant
Amahri graduated with a first-class law degree from the University of Liverpool. He previously worked at the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office and KBS Corporate.
Amahri likes to travel and being involved with community projects. Amahri has experience of business sales and Employee Ownership Trusts.
Roseanna Henson, Assistant
Rosie obtained a first-class law degree from the University of Manchester.
She has travelled across the world, and has also undertaken various professional roles. Rosie has broad commercial and corporate experience.
